Following his military service, he pursued education at Steven’s Trade, Lancaster, becoming an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Reading. He enjoyed his family, and camping activities at the beach and the mountains. Charlie was an avid gardener, who raised Washington Boro tomatoes and sweet Corn. He took pride in helping his children and family with various construction projects by providing electrical service for their homes, and building additions. He was a charter member of the Washington Boro Society for Susquehanna River Heritage and volunteered with his son Larry, to provide electrical service at the Blue Rock Heritage Center. Charlie also installed the electrical service to the Washington Boro Fire Company building which was constructed in 1970.
