Jeanne M. Hinrichsen Nehren Sweater, 85 of Lancaster, entered the heavenly gates peacefully, under Hospice care on the evening of Tuesday, December 5, 2017, while residing at Country Meadows. She was the wife of the late Richard C. Sweater, before he passed away in 1978. She was born in Rushville, NE, and graduated from Sturgis High School in South Dakota. After High School, she was employed as a telephone operator in South Dakota, married Richard C. Sweater, and Elsworth Air Force Base soldier from Quarryville. This union brought her to the East Coast to continue her life raising her family. She was employed in the 60’s by “Ma-Bell” Telephone Company in Lancaster and retired from Lancaster Avionics. She enjoyed time with her loved ones, neighbors, and Bible Study group. She reached out to helping others, and always greeted each day with a positive approach.
She is survived by her significant other and long-time friend, Lester N. Miller. One son: Richard K. Sweater, Lititz. Two daughters: Sharon Sweater-Schauer, (Gary), Lancaster. Roxanne Sweater Pierzyna (Scott), Red Wing, MN. Nine grandchildren. Five great-grandchildren. One sister: Patricia P. Nehren, Florida. One brother: William Nehren, Florida. Also, her favorite Westie Dog, “Casey”. She was the loving mother of her late son: Michael R. Sweater, who passed away in 2015, and a loving sister to her late sister: Phyllis Stanish, and her late brother: Thomas Hinrichsen.
The Family wants to express their sincerest gratitude for all of the caring, loving support received from family, friends, and all of the staff member of Country Meadows Retirement Community, Caring Hospice, and Homeinstead, during Jeanne’s final weeks. Also many thanks to the CHF Clinic and Staff.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Fred Thomas, officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
