Gayle W. Kline, 84, of Mountville, and Duck Key, FL, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in Lancaster. He was born in Mill Hall, PA, son of the late John O. and Lila Mae Yearick Kline. He played football in high school for Lock Haven Senior High, #18, Class of 1951. Gayle served in the US Navy as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate, 3rd Class; Fleet Aircraft Services Squadron (Fasron) 9, Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts and Drafting from Millersville University in 1962.
Gayle Kline RV Center was established in 1963, in Mountville. The dealership grew from ½ acre to 13 acres and celebrated its 55th year anniversary, this spring. The business grew constant over time, selling many RV Brands including Foretravel Motorhome, of which he was the last independent dealer. Upon retiring in 2001, he turned the business over to his two sons.
He was an active member of the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA), Capital Chapter, Penn Coachman, Chesapeake Allegro, Gold Coast Allegro, Zembo Temple, Columbia Lodge #286 F&AM. Gayle served on the Mountville Boro Council and was a member of the Mountville Lions Club for many years.
He is survived by his wife Billie L. Kline and three children: Terry Kline, Gayle (Larry) Smith, and Jeff (Wendy) Kline, all of Lancaster. One sister: Donna (Earle) Robinson, Mifflintown. Seven grandchildren: Courtney Kline, Andrea Kline, Kristina Smith, Amanda (Scott) Cunningham, Ryan (Rachel) Kline, Derek Kline, and Tyler Kline. Two great-grandchildren: Peyton Cunningham, and Avery Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Shirley Teaman Kline in 1985.
He will be missed by many, many RV friends, business associates and his extended Daugherty family.
A Graveside Service and Interment will be held in Mountville Cemetery following the calling hours.
