Connie Heisey Redman, 78, of Lancaster passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021, at home surrounded by family. Connie was born in Lancaster, PA daughter of the late Norman N. and Elizabeth “Betty” Koser Heisey. She attended Hempfield High School and was a long-time member of Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church and the Worship Center, Lancaster. She was a loving wife, mother and friend, known for her big hugs, caring nature and heart of service.
She is survived by her husband Ronald G. Redman. Her beloved daughters Christine Strode and husband Steve, Mount Joy; Elizabeth Schwartz and husband Steve, Middletown and Jennifer Cashner, Catawba, NC. Her cherished brother, Edward and wife Jackie, Elizabethtown. Two treasured grandsons: John-Luis and Carlos Schwartz. Precious nieces and nephews: Randie, Robin, Ron, Renee, Amanda, Jonathan, Sarah, Rebekah and Heather. Also, her pup Brutus, whom she adored. She is excited to be reunited in heaven with her parents, her sisters Nancy and Patti, her niece Rachel, her nephews JR, Matthew and Rick and many other friends and family.
Connie spent many years working at the Grinnell foundry in Columbia, PA, as a care worker for special needs adults, and most recently in housekeeping at Millersville University. Her gift of hospitality was evident by the many college students that joined family holiday meals when they had no place to go, the adults she served in various paid and volunteer roles, and her home being a hub for family and friends. Connie enjoyed playing cards or scrabble, crocheting, reading, listening to gospel music, cooking and spending time with her loved ones. She loved to make others laugh and could brighten a room with her smile. She often reminded others to not sweat the small stuff with the refrain “is it really going to matter 10 years down the road?” Her potato salad and holiday stuffing were the best ever in the history of the world.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life with a Memorial service at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main St, Mountville, on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. A private interment for family members will follow at a later date. Connie spent her life loving and serving others. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Paxton Ministries, 2001 Paxton Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111 or The Worship Center, Attn: Sewing Hope Ministry, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
