Julia A. Drey, 84, of West Hempfield Township, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Ronald L. Drey with whom she celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 31, 2022. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late James and Anna Shertz Gast. Julia worked as the office manager of Lancashire Hall for 17 years before her retirement. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards with her friends in the Card Club, cooking, which included her homecooked Sunday dinners for her family, baking and making cakes and whoopie pies. She also enjoyed her family, especially taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, her children: Debra (Charles A.) Herr; Susan A. Zeamer; Cindy L. Ocampo and Jeffrey M. (Lori) Drey. Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One brother: Robert L. (Barbara) Gast. She was preceded in death by one brother: James R. Gast and one sister: Ethel M. Speros.
