Dalvin R. Krug, 92 and Janet M. Krug, 89, both of Columbia, passed away on November 2, 2023 and November 6, 2023, respectively, both at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Dalvin was born in Cherry Tree, PA, son of the late Reed and Kathleen Pfister Krug. He worked in the Parts and Shipping Department for Caterpillar, Inc. for twenty years before he retired in 1996. Dalvin was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Janet was born in Sprangler, PA, daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Malisa Smarsh. She worked in the warehouse at McCrory’s before her retirement.
They were both members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and are survived by their three sons: Dalvin J. (Jackie) Krug, York; Michael (Lisa) Krug, York and Terry Krug, Mount Joy. One daughter: Regina Spence, York. Twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Dalvin is also survived by brothers: Edward (Jean) Krug and James (Eleanor) Krug, all of Cambria County. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and Francis Krug. Janet was preceded in death by two brothers: Stephen and Joseph Smarsh and three sisters: Margaret Morris; Lillian Panaro and Mary Kay Smarsh.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry Street, Columbia on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Daniel C. Mitzel, as Celebrant. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Final Commendation and Farewell will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, where Full Military Honors will be accorded for Dalvin. A reception will follow at Highmount Community Church, 5635 Furnace Road, York. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in their memory to: Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
