Robert T. "Bob" Eck, Sr.

 
 

Robert T. "Bob" Eck, Sr., 80, of West Hempfield Township, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023. He was the loving husband of Patricia H. Overly Eck, with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 23, 2023. He was born in York, son of the late Thomas A. and Julia A. Strausbaugh Eck. Bob was a Commercial Art Instructor at the Lancaster County CTC, retiring in 2005, after 28 years. Prior, he was a self-employed Graphic Design Artist and Sign-Writer, and an Art Director for various companies and hotel chains. Bob was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He was a Cub Scout Master and Boy Scout Leader and was involved in the “Order of the Arrow” as a Vigil member and leader. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and was an avid fly-fisherman. Bob was humble and a dedicated family man. He was a man of principal and conviction. Bob enjoyed traveling west for various fishing trips and appreciated the beauty of nature. He played softball and baseball and is on the Willow Street Wall of Fame.

Surviving in addition to his wife, his children: Robert T. (Judith "Candy") Eck, Jr.; Donna M. (Ronald G.) Daub and Lisa L. Eck. Ten grandchildren: Justine (William) Hallgren; Christopher Daub; Yvonne (Scott) Lazarus; Heather (Austin) Cornell; Alex (Courtney) Ressler; Kristin (Shane) Wert; Amanda Williams; Leandra (Andrew) Holt; Kayla (Timothy) Hilton and Danielle Garman. Nine great-grandchildren: Aiden; Henry; Maverick; Ashton; Emelia; Theo; Avery; Aria and Connor. Two brothers: Paul “Pat” (Janet) Eck and Stephen “Steve” (Sandra) Eck also, numerous other family members.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Gathering Place, 6 Pine Street, Mount Joy on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. Lunch to follow until 3:00 P.M. If you are joining the family for lunch, please RSVP at workmanfhs@comcast.net. Private interment in Concordia Lutheran Church Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Reese Hall VFW Post 8757, Mountville or the Columbia Food Bank.
