Harlan A. Redcay, 78, of Mountville, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at St. Anne's Retirement Community. He was the husband of Bernice E. Hammer Redcay, with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on October 23, 2024. Harlan was born in Ephrata, son of the late Adam N. and Arlene Allison Redcay. He was a welder for Case New Holland for 30 years before his retirement in 2004. Harlan was a Veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict having served in Germany. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he and his wife were both active with the Relay for Life Team and was a cancer survivor, having received a bone marrow transplant in 2022. Harlan was a member of American Legion Post #466, Marietta and enjoyed bowling, skiing, bike riding, walking, fishing and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife, one daughter: Angela R. (Darin) Burbrink, Richmond, VA. Two grandsons: Samuel and Maxwell. One brother: Mervin R. (Sheila) Redcay, Lickdale. One sister-in-law: Shirl Redcay. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: Lynn Redcay and one sister: Dorothy Stoltzfus.
The Memorial Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 1905 Broad Street, East Petersburg on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Angela Hammer, officiating. The Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
