Paul V. Hess, 89, of Manor Township, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community. He was the husband of the late Ruth A. Denlinger Hess, who passed away on July 16. 2008. He was born in Manor Twp., son of the late Parke E. and Elizabeth Fox Hess. He was a farmer and also worked in the Maintenance Department for Manor Twp. for 20 years, and also at John Herr’s Market. Paul was a veteran of the US Army, serving during WWII, a member of Central Manor Church of God, where he was a Deacon and served on Church Council, and the Missions Committee. He enjoyed hunting, outdoor activities and was well known for his gardening.
He is survived by one son: David D. (Amy B.) Hess, Washington Boro. Two grandchildren: Sara E. Hess and Joel D. (Kelly) Hess. Four great-grandchildren: Elijah D., Ellianna G., Jude B., and Jovie P. Hess. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Harry, Wilbur, and John Hess. Three sisters: Grace Hess, Mary Rohrer, and Ruth Beats.
The Funeral Service will be held at Central Manor Church of God, 387 Penn Street, Washington Boro on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Fred Mackey, officiating. Interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Please omit flowers.
