Ella N. Shaiebly, 88, of St. Anne’s Retirement Community, joyfully entered heaven on Monday morning, February 13, 2017. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Shaiebly, who passed away in 2009. Ella was born in Manheim, daughter of the late Benjamin and Ella Shenk Nissley and was the last survivor of eight siblings. She worked at Martin’s Hatchery for 17 years. Raising eight children was her greatest delight and accomplishment in life and she leaves her love here for them and their children. She enjoyed cooking, puzzles, sewing, music, and visits from her children, grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren. Her greatest passion in life was to help others and is remembered for her quiet acts of kindness. Even in death, she has given the ultimate sacrifice of donating her body for medical research in hopes that others will not need to suffer from her rare type of cancer.
She is survived by step-children Betty (Bill) Esbenshade; Dot (Clair) Barkle; Esther (Bob) Jeffers and children Martha (Jim) Kautz and Ellen Katie (James) McGinnis; daughter-in-law Doris (Mylin) and the late James Shaiebly; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by step-daughter Nancy Shaiebly and step-sons Eugene and James Shaiebly.
