Carolyn M. Welsh, 90, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care. She was the wife of the late James P. Welsh, who passed away in 2000. She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late Lawrence and Carolyn M. Resch Kuhn. Carolyn was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and worked for the former ITT Grinnell, Corp until her marriage. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, going to antique markets, knick-knack shops, and flea-markets. She was an excellent cook, especially her spaghetti. She collected many items over the years, but angels were her favorite. After her husband’s death, she and her son would travel to favorite restaurants and antiquing nearly every Sunday.
She is survived by one son: James P., Jr., Columbia. One granddaughter: Beth-Ann Welsh-Kline (Ryan), York, three great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and nieces and nephews. One brother: Donald Kuhn, Columbia. She was preceded in death by one son: Lawrence Welsh, and one brother: James Kuhn.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Stephen P. Kelley, officiating. Private interment will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Viewing will be from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
