June B. Sandford, 84, of Lehighton, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of William H. Sandford with whom she would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2018. June was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Robert L. and Matilda Bartholomae Burk. She worked as a Food Service Supervisor for Lancaster School District and Lancaster County Prison. Following retirement, she provided daycare in her home for 25 years, and four of the children went into different aspects of Ministry. She was a graduate of J.P McCaskey High School, Class of 1951; a former member of Abbeyville Road Christian Church; and a member of Grace-St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband, two daughters: Kathleen Anne McLaughlin, Jim Thorpe, and Sherrill (James) Kroeck, Wrightsville. Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son: William H. Sandford, Jr. Two sisters: Elizabeth Trimble and Helen Licht.
The Memorial Service will be held at Grace-St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 40 Church Road, Jim Thorpe, PA, on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Brad Leight, officiating.
