Joyce D. Fuhrman, 80, of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community. She was the wife of Chester D. Fuhrman with whom she celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on August 9, 2023. She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Moore Gerfen. Joyce was a Taxpayer Assistance Tech for the PA Department of Revenue for 27 1/2 years before her retirement. She also worked at Walkers Jewelry for 25 years. Joyce was a member of Salem United Church of Christ; Bethel #7, Job’s Daughters; Bethel Guardian #7; Grand Guardian Council and Eastern Star Donegal Chapter #422. She was active in the York area Bird Club, the Conowingo Canoe Club and the Short 60’s. Joyce was a Reiki Master.

Surviving in addition to her husband, one son: James McBride. One daughter: Stephanie L. (Perry) Hoffmaster. Three grandchildren: Mitchell, Patrick and James. One great-grandson: Jameson. Two step-daughters: Christine (Steven) Helm and Luanne (Joe) Denver. Four step-grandchildren: Justine, Kristi, Stefani and Jenifer. Six step-great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 31 South Eighth Street, Columbia on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Mark Harris and Rev. Elizabeth Nocheck, officiating. Interment in Ironville Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Please omit flowers.
