Samuel E. Smith, Jr.

Samuel E. Smith, Jr., 84, of Lancaster, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 30, 2023. He was the husband of Judith A. Arndt Smith, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 17, 2023. He was born in Hershey, son of the late Samuel E., Sr. and Elizabeth A. Webb Smith. Sam was a CPA for Simon Lever and Company for 34 years. He was also a realtor. Sam was a longtime member of Hempfield United Methodist Church where he worked in the Business Office. He enjoyed all Philadelphia sports teams, Penn State football, going to the beach at Ocean City, NJ, traveling and going to his grandchildren's sporting events. His faith and attending his Bible Study Group were very important to him.

Surviving in addition to his wife, one daughter: Kathryn A. (Kevin J.) Pobursky, Lancaster. Two sons: Bradford M. (Judy) Smith, West Palm Beach, FL and Jeffrey A. (Anne E.) Smith, Lancaster. Six grandchildren: Tyler, Tanner, Brandt, Matthew (Shaye), Trenton and Madison. One brother: Barry (Vicki) Smith, Palmyra. One sister: Gloria (Tom) Ulrich, Chambersburg. He was preceded in death by one brother: John Robert (late Donna) Smith.

The Memorial Service will be held at Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John F. Longmire, officiating. The Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Hempfield United Methodist Church Missions.
