Jay William "Bill" Charles, 78, of Elizabethtown, entered his eternal home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. He was the husband of Janice F. Raifsnider Charles. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Jacob E. and Edna Meese Charles. Bill graduated from Manheim Township High School, Class of 1963 and Millersville University, Class of 1967. Bill taught high school math for 30 years at Pequea Valley High School, coached girls basketball, negotiated school contracts, and chaperoned the Honor Society to Germany. He was an avid golfer, playing in high school and college. His passing leaves a huge, empty space in many hearts.

Surviving in addition to his wife, step-daughter: Jessica Knutson, her children: Aaron, Sage, Conner and Isabel, of Lakewood, Washington. Stepson: John Loftis, Philadelphia. Granddaughter: Amara Jhene, Elizabethtown, who was the apple in his life, spending a lot of time together, until the Alzheimer's made it difficult. He was preceded in death by one son: Robert Charles.
