Harry M. “Buddy” “Butch” Frey, Jr.

 

Harry M. “Buddy” “Butch” Frey, Jr., 83, of Manor Township, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Faye K. Kise Frey, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on September 30, 2024. He was born in Washington Boro, son of the late Harry M., Sr. and Verna Mae Duke Frey. 

Butch was a member of Central Manor Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher. He was a graduate of Penn Manor High School, Class of 1958 and West Chester State Teachers College, Class of 1962. Butch was a Health and Physical Education Teacher for the Penn Manor School District and retired in 2003 after 41 years of teaching. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Butch enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing and coaching. He was inducted into the Susquehanna Valley Hall of Fame, and the Lancaster-Lebanon Hall of Fame. He was a loving husband, Dad, granddad and great-granddad. 

Surviving in addition to his wife, one daughter: Valerie (Nelson) Breneman, Manor Township. One son: Pastor Gerald (Julie) Frey, New Providence. Five grandchildren: Aaron (Angela); Katie; Damien; Kaden and Trinity. Three great-grandchildren: Christian; Scarlet and Cheyenne. One brother: Daniel (Kathy) Frey, Elizabethtown. One brother-in-law: Jack (Diane) Dotson, Virginia. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his ten year old daughter, Barbara, one sister: Lorraine Dotson and one brother: Gerald Frey. 

The Funeral Service will be held at Central Manor Church, 387 Penn Street, Washington Boro on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. with his son, Pastor Gerald Frey and Pastor Scott Davis, officiating. The Viewing will be on Monday, at the church, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. Please omit flowers.
