Ira Norman Gerlach, 87, went to be with Jesus peacefully on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at his residence in Manor Township. He was the devoted husband of Elaine for 68 years. He will be missed by Elaine, and their five children, Bruce (Margie) Gerlach, Barbara (Bob) Vanderplate, Brad (Becky) Gerlach, Bryan (Lynn) Gerlach, Brett Gerlach (David Deater), and their 12 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
Norm was a registered architect for Fulton Financial Corporation. He enjoyed designing banks, churches, drawing plans, and overseeing construction for a variety of professional and family building projects. Following marriage, Norm became very involved at Central Manor Campmeeting, leading and serving in any way he could including in recent years and was a member of Manor Church.
Norm’s greatest joy other than his faith in Jesus, was his family. He loved Elaine and the rest of his family so much and worked to stay involved with the generations behind him. He desired to leave a legacy of faith and love. This he successfully accomplished.
The family is welcoming guests to a Celebration of Life Service at Manor Church, 530 Central Manor Road, Lancaster on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation at 10:00 A.M. Private interment will take place at the Washington Boro Cemetery.
