Manerva W. Awad, 66, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. She was the wife of the late Dr. Fayez R. Awad, who passed away in December, 2022. Manerva was born in Cairo, Egypt, daughter of the late William and Soria Louka Dous. She was a homemaker, a sensational cook, mother, and wife as well as an accountant working in her husband's esteemed Veterinary Animal Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and cherished her time at the church. Manerva's passions included cooking, music and reading. Bright colors, and rainbows brought joy to her life. She also took great pleasure and pride in assisting newcomers from Egypt to America, dedicating herself to helping them adapt to their new surroundings. Manerva was a very vibrant and secretly feisty person; known for her deep kindness. She will be cherished in memory by all who were lucky enough to know her.
She is survived by one daughter: Mary F. Awad, Elizabethtown. One son: John F. (Marisa) Awad, Philadelphia. Siblings: Magda Dous; Samir (Treza) Dous and Samia (Magid) Rouphail.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, 770 Summit Drive, Lancaster on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Silver Spring Cemetery.
