Lynda Lou Moody, 81, of West Hempfield Township, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025 at home. She was the wife of the late Jimmy C. Moody. She was born in Roxboro, NC, daughter of the late Colin MacKinnon and Mable Frances Bradsher Abbitt. Lynda Lou was a Legal Secretary and a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, camping and fishing. She was also a softball coach and was dedicated to her family.
She is survived by her daughters: Lynda Leigh Bishop, Jacksonville, FL and Tarah E. Beck, West Hempfield Township. One son: Glenn A. (Connie) Moody, Bull Gap, VA. Eight grandchildren: Caitlyn A., Hope E., Amanda J., Sara J., and Hannah N. Bishop and Samantha F. Beck, Robert A. Beck and Benjamin Moody. Brothers: James Abbitt, St. Louis, MO and MacKinnon Abbitt. One sister: Wendy Keesee, Fayetteville, NC. She was preceded in death by sisters: Jacqueline Blanks and Jean Bowler.
The Memorial Service for Lynda Lou and her husband Jimmy will be held at Wayside Presbyterian Church, 600 Stoney Battery Road, Landisville on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Stephen P. Fritz, officiating. A Visitation and Luncheon will follow the service.
