John J. Evans, Jr.

John J. Evans, Jr. 82, of Conestoga, passed away on Sunday May 12, 2024 at Evergreen Estates Retirement Community. He was the husband of the late Ann S. King Evans, who passed away on May 15, 2022. He was born in Columbia, son of the late John J., Sr. and Ruth E. Dressel Evans. John was a truck driver for Yellow Freight for many years before his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Navy, was a car show enthusiast who loved going to Corvette shows and riding motorcycles. He was a member of Bible Evangelical Methodist Church.

He is survived by his step-daughter: Debra A. (Dale) Getz, Akron. Two step grandchildren: Matthew (Kendell) Bartholomew and Morgan Bartholomew. Two step great-grandchildren: Summer Bartholomew and Blake Bartholomew. He was preceded in death by his sister: Ruth Ann Gorrecht.
