Hans J. Schmidt, 98, formerly of Mountville, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024. He was the husband of the late Eva R. Schmidt, who passed away on September 11, 2015. He was born in Luneburg, Germany, son of the late Otto and Marie Somo Schmidt. Hans and his family immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1957. Hans worked as a printer, having owned his own print shop. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and traveling.

He is survived by three daughters: Monika E. Edwards; Iris E. Hardin, both of Mountville and Diane R. Schmidt, Cordova, TN. Four grandchildren: Shannon (Stephanie) Edwards; Christian (Jamie) Edwards; Trevor Edwards and Kelsey Groff. Four great-grandchildren: Brenden, Reese, Brayden and Parker. He was preceded in death by one brother.
